QNotify
Testing an assumption against real order data before building on it.

01 · The bet
QNotify began as a WhatsApp tool to recover abandoned orders for QShop merchants, built on the common assumption that most online carts are abandoned.
02 · The question
Before building further, I asked a simple question: how many orders are really abandoned? I analysed 2,506 real orders from a pilot store. Recent abandonment was 1.6%, and 3.2 to 6.2% historically. Recovery alone would have added about one extra order a week.
03 · The decision
That shifted the focus to campaigns merchants can send themselves, such as restock alerts, repeat-purchase nudges, and promotions, with abandoned-order recovery kept as one flow of four message templates. The pilot runs across 25 QShop stores.
04 · Guardrails
Success is measured on merchants activated, recovery lift, and revenue per merchant, with a 95% WhatsApp delivery floor so the sending number is never put at risk. Open questions: whether 1.6% holds across the other 24 stores, and whether to price per message or per recovered sale.
05 · Features & outcomes
Orders analysed. One pilot store, real order history.
Real abandonment. Far below the assumed rate, which changed the plan.
Pilot. Fashion, household, and skincare merchants.
Delivery floor. Protects the sending number from being blocked.
