Kalife Travels
Rebuilding a 50-year-old travel agency's flight booking after two failed attempts.

01 · The question
Two earlier rebuilds had failed. Why? The obvious answer was the software. The real answer was underneath it.
02 · The root cause
Kalife sold flights through an entry-level airline booking connection that only showed public fares and was being shut down in July 2026. No rebuild on top of it could work. I diagnosed the limit, wrote the proposal to move to an enterprise tier, and planned a phased rebuild: a new booking platform plus a back office where Kalife sets its own markups and airline commissions.
03 · What is built
Multi-carrier flight search, fare and baggage details, multi-city booking, payments, ticketing, booking management, and a tour catalogue. 25 airline commission rules are set up and back-office testing has passed.
04 · Next
User acceptance testing and staff training, ahead of an October 2026 launch.
05 · Features & outcomes
Diagnosis. Found why earlier rebuilds could not work.
Back office. Kalife controls its own pricing.
